Meet Our Providers
Our dermatology and family practice is staffed with a team of an experienced dermatology provider, family practice provider, plastic surgeon, and medical professionals. We are passionate about skin health and overall health and continuously stay updated with the latest advancements in treatments and technologies.
Kathleen Verpaele, APRN, FNP-BC
Kathleen Verpaele founded Island Dermatology & Primary Care in 2023. She lives in Merritt Island where she grew up. Kathleen has six amazing children and a wonderful husband. She loves being on the boat, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
Kathleen Verpaele is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at University of South Florida graduating with honors. Kathleen decided to pursue her career further, obtaining her Master’s of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Central Florida graduating with honors.
She has over a decade of experience in Dermatology and 5 years in Internal Medicine. Kathleen is a certified Master injector. She loves everything skin. Kathleen belongs to the Dermatology Nurses Association and Society of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners.
Nichole Venzara Deeks, APRN, FNP-BC
Nichole Venzara Deeks founded Island Dermatology & Primary Care in 2023. She Venzara Deeks is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Merritt Island born and bred, she continues the healing tradition following her father, Dr. Frank Venzara II, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, and brother, Dr. Frank Venzara Ill, Board Certified Ophthalmologist, as a Family Practitioner.
Nichole earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at Hawaii Pacific University, Honolulu HI in 2011. She was a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse for 5 years, and in addition, 4 years in the congenital and adult cardiovascular intensive care unit. Nichole decided to pursue her career further, obtaining her Master’s of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Tampa in 2018. She has a strong passion for family medicine, focusing on preventative health and wellness, including dermatological procedure. Nichole has been working as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2019. She is certified by the American Association Aesthetic Medicine in Master injection and cosmetic procedures.
Frank X. Venzara, MD
Dr. Frank X Venzara Jr. is a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. Dr. Venzara graduated from the University of Miami and the Miller School of Medicine in 1977. He and his wife have served the Brevard community for the last 46 years. They have three wonderful children, two who have followed suit in the medical field, Dr. Frank X Venzara III, a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Nichole Venzara-Deeks as a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
Frank finds great joy seeing his children serve the same community. He is proud to represent Island Dermatology & Primary Care as their Medical Director and Supervising Physician.
